William Leahy, CMRP

William Leahy (Bill) grew up playing hockey in the north woods of Wisconsin. This eventually led to a spot on the United States Military Academy hockey team. After four years of study and Division 1 hockey Bill graduated from West Point in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He served six years as a commissioned officer in US Army Infantry rising to the rank of Captain. After discharging from the military Bill entered into the Maintenance and Reliability profession serving as an Engineering Team Leader for a Weyerhaeuser sawmill in Oregon. During his time in maintenance leadership he continued his pursuit of industry knowledge and obtained certifications in predictive maintenance technologies and reliability engineering. He completed Eruditio LLC's Inspired Blended Learning (iBL) program and earned the Reliability & Maintainability Implementation Certificate (RMIC) and the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) qualifications. Bill now performs duties as Senior Instructor for Eruditio. He instructs classes in; Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Planning & Scheduling, Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO), and Asset Management, while specializing in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Leadership. Bill is currently in his second semester at the University of Tennessee pursuing his Master's in the Maintainability & Reliability Engineering. He lives with his family in Southeastern Connecticut and volunteers his time coaching the United States Coast Guard Academy Hockey Team.
