Executive Consultant, Allied Reliability
In his current role with Allied Reliability, Michael (Mike) Aroney provides essential support to Allied's customers as they progress on their reliability journey, with a focus on leadership, governance, and change management. He specializes in execution and rapid achievement of performance objectives through culture change and organization alignment. Mike is also the subject matter expert (SME) and lead instructor for Allied's Leading Reliability Improvement courses. Combined with his advanced degrees in organizational psychology, adult learning, and business management, he possesses a wealth of knowledge that he applies to improve workplace learning. A class with Mike is an exciting journey of self-discovery and meaningful insights into how people behave and how to achieve results through people. Mike is a retired U.S. Navy officer (December 1994), whose career included flying the F-4 Phantom and F-14 Tomcat. He held various award-winning leadership positions in maintenance, operations, and command, and is a graduate of the Italian Naval War College and the US Navy Fighter Weapons School, aka Top Gun. Following retirement, Mike served as Director of Organizational Development for the US Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). and as the Change Manager for Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). From a maintenance and reliability standpoint, he has coached and advised senior executive teams in developing strategies, plans, and follow-through to implement best practices of excellence in maintenance and reliability. Mike has industry experience in mining and metals, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, petrochemical, and fluid systems, among others. He has published numerous articles on leadership and change management in various trade journals and provides keynote speeches and presentations on change management and leadership for maintenance and reliability professional organizations. Mike is also an adjunct sssistant professor of aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. He has flown 2.5 times the speed of sound and is a Desert Storm combat veteran. His hobbies include gardening, fly fishing, bird hunting, and building dioramas
