Manuel Lombardero is Maintenance Manager for AES Costa Norte, an energy complex featuring the first LNG import terminal in Central America and the largest power generation station in the region. He received a BS in Electronics Technology from Excelsior College in Albany, NY in 2006, a BA in Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA in 2007, and an MBA from the Latin University of Panama in 2017. He is currently a Doctoral Student at the Caribbean University of Panama, conducting research work in the field of Asset Management. He is an Iraq War Veteran who served in the US Navy from 1999 to 2003. He has 19 years of experience in the power generation industry in the areas of operation, maintenance, and reliability both in the United States and abroad. Manuel has formal training in Vibration Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Statistical Failure Analysis, and Equipment Criticality Analysis. He is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Asset Manager Assessor (CAMA). An active SMRP member since 2016 having published several articles for Solutions Magazine and recently participated as a speaker in SMRP`s first international Symposium in Lima, Peru.
