JD Solomon, PE, CMRP, CRE is an accomplished engineer, consultant and facilitator working with a wide variety of technical and non-technical groups. He is a regular workshop and track presenter at SMRP conferences, as well as a regular webinar presenter. He is the author of the book "Communicating Reliability, Risk, and Resiliency to Decision Makers: Getting Your Boss's Boss to Understand." JD received his engineering degree from NC State University, his MBA from the University of South Carolina and a professional certificate in strategic decisions and risk management. In addition to being a CMRP and CRE, JD is also certified in lean management and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. JD has been an active member of several SMRP work groups. He is also part of the leadership team for the ASQ Reliability and Risk Division. JD served as the international project manager for the Institute of Asset Management's international development of Subject specific Guidelines for "Asset Operations and Maintenance Delivery" and serves as a member of the "Systems Engineering" team. JD's knowledge of reliability and risk has also been shaped by his service on boards and commissions. JD served as chairman of the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission under governors of two different political parties. He also has served by gubernatorial appointment to North Carolina's State Water Infrastructure Authority (SWIA) and the state's Blue Ribbon Commission for Financing Public Buildings and Infrastructure.
