Superintendent of Engineering, Capstone Pinto Valley Mine
Craig Churchman has spent more than 10 years working in the mining industry as a consulting engineer in Canada and working directly in the largest copper mines in North America. To date, he has saved his clients and employers more than $130 million dollars through engineering solutions and reliability improvements. Craig's mining expertise was put to the test when he was hired as a Reliability Engineer with Freeport McMoRan at the largest copper mine in North America. After progressing through a variety of assignments and promotions, he left Freeport to join Capstone at the Pinto Valley mine as Engineering Superintendent. No stranger to change, he immediately began looking for ways improve profitability through reliability. A registered Professional Mechanical Engineer, Craig earned his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba after completing his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Outside of work he is an avid car enthusiast, owning several unique custom cars that he has personally built.
